My pride and joy has been laid up since the 16th February with Head Gasket Failure. I am getting Russell (apparently the man who is all things MG) to come a replace it, and renew the cam belt and water pump on the 13th March. He is coming all the way from Sevenoaks and is only charging just over £400 for the privilege. That's a whole month.
Been laid up with swine flu since Thursday. Am re-evaluting the lifestyle, particularly in light of the diabetes and reduced immune system, and am considering joining a gym!
I came home from work yesterday with the top down 
and was laughing all the way (got a lot of funny looks). Also did first modification - replaced the CD413X radio/cd with my Kenwood that I took out of my old Mondeo before I sold it. For those interested it is a KDC-W4544U and is iPod compatible - the only reason I bought an iPod as the car's the only place I'm allowed to play my music.
I finally took receipt of my 2005 MG TF on Friday 5th February 2010. It has been a week in coming. I went to collect it last Saturday to find that it had failed it's test - all the tyres had to be replaced by the dealer. Money changed hands with keys and log book coming in the opposite direction. We had decided to have lunch in the pub literally around the corner, so with hood down and the engine ticking over nicely I depressed the clutch and put into gear. Releasing the clutch slowly (as unsure where the bite point was) I suddenly realised that I had taken my foot completely off the clutch and had not moved....
The first real post of the new site. For the last few weeks I have been contemplating buying a new car as my old Mondeo is getting to the point where it's likely to start costing me money. Actually, that's not true - I started contemplating about 3-4 years when I wanted to have a mid-life crisis and buy an MGF.
