It’s that time of the year when we our thoughts are beginning to focus on the commercial festival known as Christmas. Time for Jamie Oliver to encourage us to try the wonderful fare on sale at Sainbury’s (Oh and by the way his new book) that will increase his exposure and their profits. The Christmas listings show all the old favourites - ‘Only Fools and Horses Xmas Special’, some terrible happenings in Eastenders,etc… And of course silly party season is here, where everyone gets pigs out on mass produced turkey and Christmas pud at the same time as getting steaming drunk and making a total fool of ourselves, and when we return to trying to remember who we upset or embarrassed.
Yet … it is nice to hear of someone who, probably still does all the above, looks beyond his own enjoyment and spreads a little cheer. So thanks Secret Santa for doing something just a little extraordinary
